Perth’s only bus Food Tour.

 

Discover with us the culinary joys of Perth’s food scene, seeing, smelling and tasting delights as you are taken on a culinary journey visiting some of Perth’s finest, newest and unique restaurants, cafés, drinking establishments and retail outlets providing you with information on each.

 

An indulgent day of food with a small group of people where you will meet the owner or manager to explain about the venue, learn about the hospitality industry, have the opportunity to ask questions and taste samples from each venue.

 

Word of Mouth Food Tours showcases Perth’s food and restaurants highlighting suburbs and eating hubs that offer a concentration of restaurants and cafés, delighting you with what’s good to eat at the many fantastic eateries available.

 

Food Tours run every Saturday and alternate Wednesday starting from Barrack Street Jetty at 8:30am (meeting at Bells Café; on pier #2) and returns around 5:30pm.

 

We operate two very different Food Tours. Let’s look at what a Food Tour involves: 

Original Tour

 

• coffee roastery – meet the roaster, observe coffee roasting & sample coffee
• pastry shop - meet manager or pastry chef & sample pastries
• savoury shop - meet the manager & sample a selection of savoury’s
• butcher shop – meet the owner & learn the different cuts of meat
• sweet shop - meet the manager & sample exotic teas and sweets
• chocolate shop - meet the owner & sample pure chocolate, truffles & end with an irresistible hot chocolate
• fresh produce – walk through and taste one of Perth’s top producer (Wednesday only)
• retailer – meet the owner, look at goods & sample easy entertaining ideas
• casual dining - meet the manager & sample cuisine while enjoying lunch
• fresh markets – meet the stall owners, learn what’s in season and taste samples from 2 stalls (Saturday only)
• craft brewery - look at the brewing operation & sample brews with a taste plate from the menu
• fine dining - sample from the menu with matching wines
• pub - finish the tour with a beverage

 

New Tour

 

• coffee roastery – meet the roaster, observe coffee roasting & sample coffee
• spring markets – meet the stall owners and taste samples from stalls (Spring only – NOTE: tours starts at 8:15am)
• pastry shop - meet manager or pastry chef & sample pastries (replaces Spring Markets)
• savoury shop - meet the owner & sample a selection of cheeses
• retailer – meet the manager & sample olive oils and balsamic vinegars
• fresh produce – walk through & sample local produce
• fish shop - meet the owner & sample oysters and BBQ seafood
• tapas bar - meet the manager & sample tapas with wine while enjoying lunch
• cooking class - sit and view a cooking class
• fine dining - sample from the menu with matching wines
• pub - finish the tour with a beverage

A fun filled day for $125.00 per person and includes coffee, pastry, market samples, savoury, herbal tea, chocolate, beer, wine from casual dining to fine dining.

 

Individual / single, group and corporate bookings available.

 

Bookings can be made individually to join others on the tour or exclusive group bookings are available. Exclusive group tours with a minimum of 8 people.

 

Transport in a Toyota Hiace (maximum 12 people). For larger groups, tours are customised and transport is arranged in a mini bus (maximum 24 people).

 

Clothing is casual and we recommend comfortable shoes as there is a little bit of walking during the day.

 

All foodies on the Food Tour will receive a WOM-Bag of goodies. This includes information on all the venues we visit plus much more. Also there are major discounts offered at selected venues and establishments on the tour. We carry Esky’s and boxes on board…So be sure to grab a bargain!

To confirm a single booking, full payment is required. To confirm a group booking, a deposit of two people is required with full payment one week prior to the dinner. Payment can be made by credit card, cheque or electronic transfer. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for more information.

Please note the number of venues, order and samples can change; Exclusive group tours are available for minimum of 8 people or more with a pick-up and drop-off service from anywhere in Perth (applicable only for exclusive tours and transfer fee may apply); Transport in a van (maximum 12 people) or large groups in a mini bus (minimum 17 to a maximum of 24 people); For large group bookings tours are customised and the number of venues included in the tour could be reduced offering more time to spend at selected venues; One pick-up point and one drop-off point only (Barrack Street Jetty - Bells Café; on pier #2) for individual bookings; Word of Mouth Food Tours reserves the right to cancel or alter a tour due to insufficient passengers; To confirm a booking credit card details are taken (not processed unless advised); Full payment (non-refundable) required to confirm booking; 2% surcharge applies for credit card transactions; 100% cancellation fee applies within 1 week of departure due to venues paid one week in advance to confirm reservation with Word of Mouth Food Tours.
