I recently participated in a Word Of Mouth food tour and must admit I was a little apprehensive at going alone. It was quite a mixed group, with some professional food industry people as well as a group of friends just out for an enjoyable day. But I was surprised at how easily everyone got along, especially when there was food to talk about.
Our tour guide, Otto Kamenzin, was friendly and organised. He had cold water in the van to drink, storage space for any purchases and even an esky to keep food cold. He also pointed out a lot of interesting places along the way, without being intrusive.
I would highly recommend taking your cash or credit card on the tour as there are lots of delicious and interesting things to buy along the way that are especially discounted for WOM tour groups.
This makes a great gift idea for Christmas, and as the venues do change, it is something you can do more than once.

YOU are a perfect host and I most certainly can assure you that everyone is talking about it, even our friends and family scattered from Brisbane to Africa!! We are a pretty discerning lot .... for example last years birthday was up in the mountains of Antibes breakfast on French riviera ... with a progressive day of dining and touring through Nice, Cannes and finishing in Biot .... BUT your tour was equally JOYFUL and we all thank you and wish you a wonderful future in your venture.

As some constructive feedback for you … for what you provide to everyone, I reckon you’re under-pricing what is actually a real premium experience…Given the time and quality, I would have expected that the whole thing would cost much more than $120 and probably would have been willing to pay about twice that! I certainly didn’t expect everything that was included for the price and was also surprised by how good the quality of each place was. It’s a surprise in a good way but there might also be people who wouldn’t go on it since at the current price, they wouldn’t think it would be any good!

Just wanted to send you a note to let you know how much I enjoyed the tour yesterday. I had a great day and I think the venues/activities you have chosen are excellent. It’s so nice to find someone showcasing our food scene here in Perth. I loved the casual ambience of Mad Monk Brewery, the elegance of the food and surrounds at Bluewater Grill, the range of excellent cheeses at Deli Divine.

As you have probably gathered from spending the day with me on today’s tour, I have a love of food, wine, coffee & people. It is rare I spend a day enjoying all of those things together but today, you covered the lot & more! From the moment we started the tour, I knew it was a day I was going to enjoy & it passed my expectations – even the weather didn’t detract from anything or anywhere we visited. In fact, sitting at The Blue Water Grill eating & drinking the most wonderful food & wine when it was cold & wet outside, was just perfect. I very much enjoyed the mix of ladies I spent the day with – & you were the perfect host!

We first of all applaud your customer relations prior to the tour, very speedy information about the tour after I emailed you, and then a short phone call to check that we are familiar with the arrival time and location etc.
Such a wide range of activities during the day wetted out appetite, literally and the first stop at European Foods set up the day very well.
Our guide was personable, experienced and great with everyone present, it was refreshing to have someone whose family has been part of the business for so many years. All of us would be keen to use this outlet in the future for purchases.
Our lunchtime stop at first of all Epicurious and then Ess Bar was inspired. We enjoyed Epicurious, firstly as a sensational retail outlet for the wide range of kitchen “stuff”, and then the chance to assist Ian Lawless and his assistant with some cooking preparation, “hands-on”. Learnt a lot in a short space of time and appreciated how much time is put into the preparation of just the right food for a large group of people. Really had a terrific tasting plate lunch at Ess Bar and will go to this Bar sometime in the future with friends and family – fabulous décor, great food, plenty of room and looks like an opportunity to dance in the evenings etc .as well.
Il gelato – speaks for itself and so does Cottesloe beach!
Mad Monk Brewhouse was great. We enjoyed the tasting of beer and then the shucking of the oysters very much.
What a finale – Lamonts. Such a terrific venue is this restaurant. Nathan the executive chef was exceptionally attentive, and equally interesting, giving us his fulltime despite the upcoming busy evening. His choice of foods to sample and explanation of the relationships between the wine chosen and the taste of the food was extremely enlightening, we will remember this information for the future.
